We watched videos about I' Girone De' Ghiotti before we came to Florence, and definitely couldn’t wait to try it. Wow is was better than I expected it was going to be!!! I had #9 the Discordia, and Heather had the La Bogita which is wild boar, I end up eating half of hers as well. What I really like about this sandwich is the bread. The bread was very nice and crispy/crunchy, the meat was amazing especially the salami. The cream cheese that was on there was so delicious which gave it that extra taste. We ended up having the sandwiches and a glass of wine and got to sit in the corner of the little restaurant after everybody cleared out and we got our sandwiches, which made it very nice. I want to give a shout out to the people that work there. They were so friendly and polite greeting us with smiles and happy that we were there. This was the best sandwich I’ve ever had, hands down!!! Thank you I' Girone De' Ghiotti ❤️😊🥪
The sandwich was really good and reasonably priced. I had the Francesca sandwich (with truffle cream, vegan) and had no complaints. The focaccia was crunchy outside, soft inside and not too oily. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Florence and looking for a reasonably priced quick eat.
Got there at 11:15 to be confronted with a long line. We waited and the line got longer. They opened at 11:30 and it moved really quickly. We were #13, made our order and went upstairs to a small attic space with 5 tables. They cut their own meat and it looks like they make their own bread. We got the Pinocchio and the Cignala. They quickly called our number and we got our delicious, mouth watering sandwiches. This place lived up to the hype!! And it was so affordable compared to what we had been paying all over Italy. When we came out the line was more than double of when we went in. Timing was key, get there early.
Great restaurant to visit . it’s delicious!! the meat sliced locally and its fresh vegetable in the sandwiches . The bread is crispy. I highly recommend to try this fast food restaurant but keep in mind delay or waiting time 10-20 minutes Food 10/10 Clean 10/10 Service 10/10
Just the best place in Florence for an authentic sandwich lunch and great value - hence the queues Tip - It is worth the wait 😋 We went twice, eating upstairs. The porchetta based Dante was excellent especially with added sun-dried tomatoes.
Very small place where you can eat local. We discovered this based on some recommendations and we stop by to try. The mixt of taste in each sandwich is just great and helps you better understand the local culture. The place is small and has a very small sitting at first floor. Nice design and good products - if you can , stop by. Is close to Palazzo Vecchio.
Very tasty and very good!!! We had been hesitating between different spots nearby that served almost the same types of sandwiches but some of them are obviously famous because of social media and not very tasteful… It was not the case in this place : the quality of the ingredients is there and the mix and taste perfect! Very good spot, just be ready for a little wait and to eat outside!
This place is the best! Loved the atmosphere of a small sandwich shop cutting fresh meat and building the sandwich. Staff were efficient and easy to work with. The sandwich is amazing. The bread is light with a perfect crust from being toasted. The meats and other fillings are splendid. Simply delicious!
Really good schiacciatas (sandwiches) that are nice and full with good fillings, perfect stop if you have time to wait but they are helpful in the line and you can time it right to do other things in florence, worth the wait. Not too expensive for a meal in florence centre and easy to find. We stayed in queue for the real dwal and it was worth it but there are a couple less popular places accross the road on the same street so you might as well see what it's like on the day and whether you want to wait. Don't expect to sit in even though I think you can if you sit near the queue you will have a lot of people passing behind you. Great bread and menu selection, they do try and upsell drinks at the till but no problem saying no if you don't want them and good staff that work quick and keep everything moving. Great stop, one of the highlights of florence.
TikTok sent me here, and it did not disappoint! I wasn’t familiar with the menu, but the gentleman working there was incredibly helpful and recommended the Rosa sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh ingredients, amazing flavour, and perfect for a quick lunch. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Florence!
